History Leaks publishes rare and underappreciated documents and artifacts of general interest to the world. These may be single items or entire collections. We also publish news and commentary on the practice of history and the humanities in the digital age. We DO NOT release sensitive or classified material pertaining to current events. We DO share public domain and fair use documents of compelling historical significance. One of the goals of this site is to promote open access to knowledge. Another goal is to draw attention and support to the important work performed by our beleaguered public archives and institutions.
History Leaks is a nonprofit educational initiative that embraces the values of openness, equality, and democratic participation. To contribute, contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Contributions may be anonymous or signed. All contributions are posted in good faith and in the public spirit. To the extent that it is possible, all material is tagged and sourced to its point of origin. Content posted reflects the ideas and opinions of the author(s) involved and does not imply endorsement or support by the owners or operators of this site. All content is provided for educational purposes only. For more information, check out the History Leaks Manifesto.
History Leaks is a proud supporter of the (now largely defunct) Zotero Commons.
